Local Note
The tree canopy is the defining feature in Mission. Those mature oaks and sycamores take uplighting beautifully, but they also mean less usable ground space for fixtures, so we work around root systems and keep runs shallow and out of the way.

Will landscape lighting look overdone on a smaller Mission lot?
Not if it is designed for the lot. On compact properties we use fewer fixtures at lower output, focusing on the entry, one or two specimen trees, and the walkway. The goal is a home that looks intentional after dark, not floodlit.
Can you uplight large mature trees?
